ADMISSION PROCESS FOR FOREIGN & NATIONAL APPLICANTS

The applicant must first review the list of running programs within the University's various schools, as well as their eligibility and requirements. 

When the applicant has decided on a program based on the eligibility requirements, then he or she must review the list of available Scholarship Schemes and their eligibility requirements too.

Following the completion of the program of study and the selection of an eligible scholarship, applicants must proceed to the applications section of the Directorate of Admissions portal to submit their application through a specific scholarship scheme.

If an applicant is not eligible for a scholarship, he or she may express an interest in studying through the general category application without a scholarship.

 After the application submission,the directorate of Admissions team will screen your submitted documents for the next stage of either inviting the applicant for an online examination for scholarship screening or issuing admissions for candidates who applied in the general category without a scholarship.

Then after passing the preceding stages, the applicant will be granted provisional admission. A specific timetable with registration and enrollment deadlines.

Visa Process for International Applicants

• Go to the Nigeria Immigration website, which is  https://portal.immigration.gov.ng.
• Choose an Entry Visa/Visa Free Zone
• Click on Processing Country and choose the country where you live.
• Press the Start Application button.
• You can find the application on the Inovate 1 Services website. Please use your existing Google or Yahoo email account to log in otherwise, choose the open ID option and create an account for the application process.
• After logging in, begin the application process and create an account with Innovate1 Services.
• Determine the closest processing office, Nigerian High Commission, or Nigerian Embassy.
• Please fill out the form and click the SUBMIT button before printing the entire form (seven pages in total).
• After successfully submitting your application, you will be given an application ID and a reference number.
• Please proceed and make the VISA FEE PAYMENT with your debit or credit card using the Application ID and Reference number.
•  If you do not have a debit or credit card, please buy a money order for (the visa fee) and attach it to the Application ID and Reference number. Please keep in mind that if you pay by money order, you must wait for Innovate1 Services to send you confirmation that they received your money order.
• Please print your Visa Payment Slip as well as your Visa Acknowledgement form.
• Print and send the completed application and payment documents to the Nigerian High Commission or Embassy in your country.

Arriving in Nigeria and Receiving a Free Shuttle Service

• The Directorate of Admissions provides free pickup service for any international student arriving in Nigeria to study at MIU.
• When booking your flight, select only the following airports: Airport Nnamdi Azikiwe International, Abuja, Nigeria Flight booking code: ABV - Abuja Nigeria
• All students are provided with on-campus housing, but if a student wishes to stay off campus, the University logistics division can help.
